the digital rebirth of Deep Sjeng

On May 2018 I asked Gian Carlo: is it possible to write a Deep Sjeng running on a GPU?
Now I got the answer: done!
"It is a new design, not related to either program. I mostly wanted to try a bunch of ideas that never made it to Leela (Zero Chess)"
He called it Stoofvlees. Maybe when it is ready it will be Deep Sjeng 4.0 :-)
The engine has an own net and only works on a Nvidia GPU. It also runs on CPU - but about 300 points weaker.

The newest version is named StoofVlees II a9 and we started to test it for CEGT 40/20 and 40/4.
At the moment I have 30 games for 40/20
StoofVlees II a9 - Ethereal 11.25 x64 1CPU : 20,5/30 16-5-9

and I made 100 games for 40/4

1 StoofVlees II a9 +10 +38/=27/-35 51.50% 51.5/100
2 Xiphos 0.5 x64 1CPU -10 +35/=27/-38 48.50% 48.5/100

Result for 40/20:

1 StoofVlees II a9 +143 +54/=31/-15 69.50% 69.5/100
2 Ethereal 11.25 x64 1CPU -143 +15/=31/-54 30.50% 30.5/100

now against Komodo 12.2.2 x64 1CPU

I don't see the hardware for GPU engines mentioned? Without that info the results have not much meaning.
This info should be also on the CEGT main site.

BTW what is the size of StoffVlees networks?

Found sth with the forum search help: (is the info below correct?)
http://cegt.forumieren.com/t1082-testin ... 20-2-32930

Code: Select all

G.S.:
GPU : GTX 1060 @stock
CPU : Intel i7-8750H @ 4.0 GHz

LRatio: 1.30 - 1.75 (after 10, after 120 seconds)

W.B.:
GPU : GTX 970 @stock
CPU : Intel i7-4770 @ 3.4 GHz

LRatio: 1.25 - 1.60 (after 10, after 120 seconds)
Of course this should be really also linked/made visible on the main CEGT site, which seems very obsolete.
Gerhard doesn't even appear as a CEGT tester ;-) Probably all kind of info links around CEGT weren't updated
since several years, if not a decade?

BTW are you Werner Battig or Werner Schüle? :)
I always thought you were Werner Schüle, but according to the GPU infos from Gerhard (Sonnabend),
you must be Werner Battig? (easier would be to add the full name below the nick name in the profile option)

He is Werner Schüle.
WB stands for Wolfgang Battig :)

But you are right, Günther. Especially our testes site urgently needs an update...
Some person are not active any more or missing. And hardware infos are totally obsolete, not all, but many.

Concerning GPU:

Werner: GTX 1660 (if I recall correctly)
Gerhard: GTX 1060 (mobile, i.e. in a Laptop)
Wolfgang: GTX 970 and upcoming a GTX 1060 (both desktop)

Ok, thanks Wolfgang :)
So meanwhile other members also added some Nvidia GTX GPUs.

Hi small correction:
I use a new GTX 1650 and the Leela Ratio with this Card is around 1 (this Card is only a bit faster than GTX 1050 TI)
CPU is Intel I5 6600K;
And the used Network is net12.koe 44.166.999 31.03.2019;

Hi Günther,

i've made an update of the CEGT-Tester-Page:

http://www.cegt.net/testers/testers.html

Some details are still missing but will be added soon.

Best wishes,
G.S.
(CEGT team)
