Just for fun...
An Octagon Sharktank, an Easter special running for the next 72 hours, 8 different flavors of the latest bleeding edge Stockfish and derivatives with the relatively "long" time control of a 150 second base with a full 5 second increment - 40 positions will be selected at random ( via script using "jot") from a 200 handpicked positions that were handpicked to foster very sharp play,
Single thread , with 12 games running concurrently on a 12 Core ( real) Mac Pro

Full 6 Man Syzygy on SSD drive.
All run on Bob Hyatt's csh scripts and match code, totally GUI less and automatic, including positing of results ( using a modified bayeselo) and games (slightly modified)

A few comments - my bad, but I included am amsfish that plays with variety, hence the unexpected poor showing here. After the next round. 20 random positions would have been used - which is halfway through and at this point , I will end it. I had expected Corchess or Sugar to finished on top and I have played more games, one of those engines most likely would have finished on top had I kept it going. IMHO, I believe Corchess tp be the strongest Stockfish derivative for LTC games with Sugar a close second ( and whenever asmfish is current, it is a major force as well) I tip my hat to both Ivan and Marco for their efforts as well large head nod of appreciation to the entire SF development team for making this possible as without SF none of these very fine derivatives would exist period. Will post the final results ( as noted, aborting at 20 positions as soon as it wraps up). May do a threesome with Corchess, Sugar and McCain soon.Code: Select all
