I'll bite.... how exactly is +17 Elo no progress?

15 Stockfish 161212 x64 : 3407 7 7 7000 76.4 % 3188 35.8 %
16 Stockfish 170417 x64 : 3407 7 7 7000 74.8 % 3203 35.2 %

Stockfish from December 12 2016 same strength as Stockfish from April 17 2017.

So you chose to cherry pick an anomalous result instead of looking at the many other consistent results?

1) They are the exact same rating and the +- is 7 Elo, so you have no idea whether progress has been made or not.

2) It is clearly an anomalous result, aka a lucky run (the CI is not 100%).
