TCEC is dead or temporarly down

Post by arunsoorya1309 »

Website seems to be down, have they closed or temporarily closed for season 9 :). For the moment graham's matches have made us forget TCEC :)

Let us hope that they are just revamping the website in preparation for season 9

I emailed Anton Mihailov, of chessdom.com. He says they intend to have Season 9 of TCEC around 1 May (plus or minus 5 days or so). They are reworking the TCEC part of the site now. He is contacting engine authors this evening.

I suppose you will have another +50 elo Andsacs ready for TCEC. :o
A month is long enough time for you to improve your engine and add another 50 elo or more to it. :)

I expect to be at home that time and to be able to be tuned in. At least part of the time.
TCEC has been the only thing that has refreshed my chess abilities, and i think it has effectively refreshed my chess and continued my understanding.
It gives the opportunity and the time to predict next moves, so it is more than merely looking through a game.
And the fact that it is live, makes the brain think more whilst watching.
THAT ought to be called "entertainment".
To see how the programs are playing and get an idea of their natures and comparative strength, i think is also effective. Better when you can actually watch them in action at the same time.
I only hope there will appear the engines i want to see.
I still like to see Rybka 4.1, to see how it looks in todays competition. Without it, i am lost!
