FCP: Pedone 1.3 BMI2 x64 is still running!

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

now Pedone 1.3 BMI2 x64 is still running!
For Pedone 1.3 a fight for qualify for my FCT League 2.

Note:
I made a configuration mistake for Pedone 1.2 BMI2 x64.
Pedone 1.2 runs all the time without 4-pieces endgame databases.

The result for 1.3 will be 5 Elo stronger without this mistake (think so).
Of course, now the configuration should be OK, sorry again!

If you like to follow:

Good luck for the programmer!

Hi there,

I can't see improvements for Pedone 1.3 BMI2 x64 in playing strength with 1 core.

Here are the final result:

Code: Select all

79 Pedone 1.2 BMI2 x64 : 2700.8 9.9 1005.0 2850 35.3%

It's correct. The strength of the 2 versions in single core is very similar, but version 1.3 is more stable and I have solved a bug related to the parallel search. The 1.3 is a little bit more agressive due to an improvement in the king safety.

In the next release there will be a good ELO improvement.

Hi Fabio,

have a look here:

Pedone 1.1 = 92 move average after 1650 games
Pedone 1.2 = 93 move average after 2850 games
Pedone 1.3 = 95 move average after 2050 games

All without resign-mode in my Rating List.

Not easy to beat Pedone 1.3 very fast.
Version 1.3 runs absolutely stable.

From this point of view ... clearly more interesting is the newer version 1.2. For my Rating List I am testing the strongest Version. Such a Problem I have with Andscacs too ... Version 0.81 is a bit stronger as 0.82.

Thanks for your comments.
Can see all what you wrote about it.

Nice engine, hope you will not lost your interest and many newer Versions (not to many) :-) will be available.
