yesterday in the evening I saw that I not changed the "search.par" configuation file for EXchess 7.51b x64. In my test for EXchess 7.31b x64 all is right, here I changed the "search.par" file.
2.050 games played without endgame databases and 256Mb for Hash only (normaly I config for each engine 512Mb for Hash).
I am to old for testing engines ...
In my current test-run EXchess 7.71b x64 have endgame databases and 512Mb for Hash.
Sorry to the programmer!
So the final result will be around 10-15 better ...
Programmer gave the Information around +20 and +15 (my mistake) ... EXchess 7.71b x64 should be around 35 Elo stronger as the predecessor in my rating list.

from my view ...
EXchess was one of the first available Winboard engines and one of the main engines in the first available Rating list for Winboard engines I created with Kai Skibbe, Christian Koch (helps by Djordje Vidanovic). Only Tim Mann wrote again and again ... Frank, the main idea from Winboard isn't eng-eng matches and you make me a lot of work here
At this time we are looking each day on the site from Dan Homan (new version available or not, engines for so many people much more important as Fritz and other commercial things). Clearly the programmer of EXchess animated for ... People please ... make your engine compatible to a protocol and we all have much more fun in testing.
It was also the time I started with an internet connection ...
Must drive a long way to a friend for download new Crafty, TheCrazy Bishop, Tristram and SSEChess versions (the first available WB engines) ... At this time my friend have a modem and AOL and I a lot of disk ...
Tristram, SSEChess, EXchess, TheCrazy Bishop, Comet, Crafty, Zarkov, WBNimzo, Zarkov, Patzer ... we played so nice tournaments.
Nice to see that the good and old EXchess have a place in TOP-50 of available engines today!!
And the playing style from EXchess is very interesting ...
I am often surprised about tactical combination after the opening book moves. Today EXchess is very solid in all playing phases.
You are the expert in programming.
I can't see ideas in SMP ... never I used SMP.
For testing chess engines is SMP not important.
SMP factor I can test with 5 test-postion ... no games for find out SMP factor are necessary.
Also for analysing and the work on my opening book ...
I am using 4 engines with 1 core ... runs to the same time ... much more interesting for myself as to start one engines with 4 cores (totaly boring).
But SMP is nice for get the full engine power for analyze positions, for official computer chess games, games on server on fast hardware. But on all this I have no interest.
I think we lost to many time in testing engines with SMP support. Again, for hardcore testing ... SMP isn't important for me ... it's only a feature, not more not less.
