So this would mean it scales well? Or that it comes to its peak strength when it has a certain amount of time/cores to think?

In the tournament "the champions 2112 4cpu" Houdini seemed just as good as in this tournament, if we discount the first 9 games of it.
(I assume those first 9 games make sense from the log)

You don't get it, Stuart. When Houdini wins, it's strong. When it loses, it's weak.

Yes! in one or two positions which came up in those games.

Ah well, so if that's the case, I'm sure the moves played were the same moves that would again be played if tested (with same settings, and no learning etc.) Coincidences DO happen (That Houdini was confronted with positions in which it made losing moves, in 3 games close together).

It makes difference (4 or 8 cores) if engines are able to get some higher depths in midlegame. Sometimes I see only a reverse action. :?
