oh, i see that your buchholz is calculated the points of opponents together without counting the results each one, i mean it is a summary of all opponents no matter how is won, draw, or lose.

the standard rule is to get full point of one if its won, and half points of one if its drew, and nothing if its losed.

or did i missunderstanding that ?

First of all, congratulations for programming such a strong engine as Tornado is.

Answering to your question, you are confusing Buchholz system with Sonneborn-Berger score (aka Neustadtl score): in Buchholz, the score of all your opponents are summed; in S-B, you do a weighted sum of all your opponents' scores, and the weights are 1 if you won, 1/2 if you drew and 0 if you lost (against each opponent). Please take a look here:

Buchholz system.

Neustadtl score.

..and i am very happy with this result too, because Tornado let other very strong engines like Chiron far behind him and other commercial ones, like Smarthink, Ktulu, gandalf, the King :)

Thanks a lot.

I am very satisfied with the performance of the new Gaviota version. Not only stayed in this tough division, but also had a very solid tournament, losing only one game, winning three, seven draws (including Chiron).
