Yes indeed, it looks like your tip was good. The first cycle (28 games) will be finished in about 24-36 hrs, and you may like the results so far

Thanks for running the tournament Dave!

I like the result of Glaurung 2.01 here, it did very well in second place. I think sometimes this Glaurung is running better on Intel processors than on Athlons... It is a fact I think it does very well on the Core 2 Duo from Intel that is also in Tord's development Mac. Was Rybka playing with the 64-bits version in your tourney?

No, 64-bits won't run on my system. :-(

Thank you. Some people have been lately only caring about results but I think that chess is about the games :) (On the second round of my tourney I'm going to force some moves so it will be interesting to compare the games to yours when I force e4 or d4.)

Rybka BETA lost on time also on my tourney (against Naum), but that result will not count as it happened with a tablebase win for Rybka (if I had the 6 men tablebases Rybka would have not lost so it's unfair to score a loss) a win was adjudicated.

Also, I think I'm going to have the halfway results of my tourney ready today :) (Even when the games are short, the very few CPU time I have is getting in the way, that's why they're played at these very fast time controls.)

I agree, chess is about the games, not about opening books or tablebases. I like to watch the games live, whenever possible. My time is limited, so it's rather difficult.

I always check the games for time losses, and adjucate when necessary.

Sorry, I meant tableblase draw (A draw was adjudicated)

Meanwhile, here is the midway crosstable:

Note that I score draws as 0.45 to penalize the drawing engines (1 win is 0.1 better than two draws.)

10 means "Won with white, lost with black" etc.

Code: Select all

        1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
1 TogaC .... 10 11 =1 10 0= 1= 11 9.35/14 (66.79%)
2 Glaur 10   .... 11   10   10   ==   11   01   8.90/14 (63.57%)
3 Rybka 00 00 .... 1= =1 =1 =1 11 7.80/14 (55.71%)
4 Fruit 0= 10 =1 .... 10 11 10 0= 7.35/14 (52.50%)
5 Brigh 10 10 0= 10 .... 0= 11 1= 7.35/14 (52.50%)

7 Naum2 =0 00 0= 10 00 10 .... 11 4.90/14 (35.00%)
8 Frenz 00 01 00 =1 =0 1= 00 .... 4.35/14 (31.07%)
