New release Pedone 3.1

Post by Fabio Gobbato »

I've just released a new version of my engine.

These are the changes:
- New neural network.
- Optimized incremental update of the neural network.
- Improved null move conditions.
- Added evaluation for trapped bishop for chess960.
- Fixed a bug with ponder.
- Simple support for "go nodes" command.
- Skip illegal moves in "go searchmoves" command.
- Added MoveOverhead option.

It's about 70 elo stronger than Pedone 3.0.
As usual you can download it from its site: https://sites.google.com/site/pedonechess

Wonderful progress, Fabio. One of my gauntlets is about to finish so I know what to test next.

Excellent news, I've just finished running DanaSah 8.8 at chess960 so will move onto this now.

Unfortunately, there is a bug in the engine, please correct it.

How will the entry be deleted pedonebook.bin - the program stops working.

You do not need to delete the entry.

For me, this is a mistake and a redundant entry.

I don't understand what is the problem, if OwnBook is disabled or if there isn't the book the engine doesn't use it.
I've tested with the book enabled and disabled and the engine work.

Please delete the entry pedonebook.bin and play - the program stops playing.

Ok, now I have seen the problem. I will solve it, but for now if you keep the BookFile and you disable the OwnBook option the engine doesn't use a book.

Yes, if you leave Own Book unticked then it is fine just to leave the name there is it not ?
