Hi there,
Marcus Kästner is good known for German people like computer chess.
Marcus was the owner from the computer chess magazine "ChessBits" and do a lot for computer chess in the past.
Nice reviews to computer chess GUIs and a lot of other things he do for us.
I wrote myself for Chessbits some reviews to Winboard / UCI / Arena things.
Not the topic!
Please be informed that Marcus Kästner wrote a new tool for Elo calculation.
I sent him yesterday different ideas for his work.
For the first available version a great work with an own and nice GUI.
Have a look here:
Note:
microsoftdesktop-runtime is required (current version = 5.05).
If you like to test it:
You can download the program on my website.
Frank's Chess Page
https://www.amateurschach.de (click on "Downloads" in menue-system of site).
You can find the URL to microsoft for Net5 too.
I added the best Wasp 4.50 round from the still-running FCP Tourney-2021 in the files by Marcus.
(*.pgn from round 21 of 50, tourney is at the moment still running in round 34).
For your first experiments!
Of course, you can find a small readme in English and German languages for the new freeware ...

Hi Ferdy,
yes, of course it's based on Elo. But it differs from all the other stuff available. And if the data is uncoherent or there is a huge spread between the best and the worst, I'm quite sure that the output is better and more reliablae than with the other stuff.
You can proof it, taking a database with pc-progs and old chesscomputers. and/or take a base with only few games for some of the participiants.
And yes, the output in the textbbox is german. sorry. will be fixed in the future.
Regards
Marcus
