Fritz 17

Post by Krzysztof Grzelak »

I have such a question for the owners of the program Fritz 17. Whether after the programme update, there will be an engine made available Fat Fritz 2.

Hi Krzysztof,

yes ... I got two updates.
88.342.592 bytes (Fat Fritz 1.1)
243.317.856 bytes (Fat Fritz 2.0) I think.

Never try out, much more interesting is LC0 0.27.0!

Unfortunately, no update for the Fritz 17 engine (Ginkgo).

Did you purchase FF2 separately? I bought Fritz 17 (which came with FF1) back in 2019 and have updated it, but I see no FF2 in there.

Hi Carldaman,

hm ...
You are right, I am looking under available engines in CB16 and Fritz 17 (both installed):

I can see ...

FatFritz (in lc0) 1.1 cpu
FatFritz (in lc0) 1.1 opencl
FatFritz (in lc0) 1.2 dx12

Sorry, the second updated I got is maybe 1.2 dx12?
Again, never try out that ... I am using lc0 0.26.3 and 0.27.0 CPU version on my systems.

Hi Krzysztof,

yes, I added the information about current updates in my link selection:
http://www.amateurschach.de/main/_comparable.htm

upd. 23 for Fritz 17 and upd. 5 for CBase 16

I like to looking in the new features, means what Matthias Wüllenweber do here.
The main reason I buy version to version!

Very nice is that engine "Ginkgo" is inside the Fritz 17 package.
Since many years Chessbase offer a great engine, not available on good known sites.

:-)
