I found the cause of the problem. For years I've been using the same opening book to train and test Galjoen.
This book served me well in the past, but now, version 0.41 is totally overfitted on these openings.
When I use another book, I see an immediate drop in performance of at least 40 Elo.

I'll leave 0.41 for what it is, and I will use other openings to train the next version of Galjoen.

I regret to report it but first results are very disappointing. See the fresh blitz update.

Galjoen 0.41.2 is doing much better in my tournament than previous versions. I use incremental time (1'+1"), some of the older versions' losses were for losing on time.

Good to see that they are gone now.
You test at a twice as fast time control as CCRL 40/2, I'm curious if that will make a difference in the performance of Galjoen against stronger opponents in the coming rounds.
