I have uploaded an AVX2 compile here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... IreoNOB2xX
Werner wrote: Sat Jan 30, 2021 5:14 pm ... sorry, did not work, perhaps I used the wrong lib....dlls ? Which are the correct versions (dates)?
I simply used the makefile, I thought it would make a static exe not needing dll's. I'm afraid I can't do more.
The Static flag has a conditional and is only excuted as -static, if mingw is definitely recognized.
Just remove the condition(s) for it and let Static = -static remain in the makefile and it will be used always.
I have uploaded four flavours to my site at the usual place. (ssse3, amd10, bmi2, avx2) the new net is included.
It should be mentioned too that this version and also the 6.00 patch1 fix a bug reported by me for usage in WB,
which prevented using Szyzygy tables there (probably since ever).

@Carlos I shortened amdfam10 everywhere now to amd10 ;-)

I did not want to make a big fuzz about it first, when version 0.0.1 of Qapla was available, as it was declared a 'programmers' version not yet for users and in very early stage of development. Of course it was still silently added to the XB/UCI chronology.
But to my surprise two weeks later we are meanwhile at the 6th release! If I am not mistaken it is a popcount one, so probably I need to build some myself tomorrow.

Volker Böhm, one of the authors of Spike is back with a new 'child'.

Now at version 0.0.14 and meanwhile XB/UCI compatible (first version was XB only).

Note that despite the name of the repo the engine is now named Qapla.
Moreover I saw Volker also registered here today and probably has soon something to say about it :)
Best in a new own thread.

Your amd10 compile is much faster than the other available compile. Thanks!

I just released Dumb version 1.8 with binaries for Linux (x64 and aarch64), Mac-OSX 11 and Windows (x86 & x64).
This version corrects a few bugs and got an enhanced search. It should be ~100 Elo stronger than the previous version.

Queen 4.05a by Leen Ammeraal was released in January! - I haven't yet checked, if only the GUI was updated or the included engine too
Anyhow, a very nice piece of software!

Bad news: Cinnamons homepage is (currently?) suspended - surely another stupid false positive case :(

Weiss 1.3 released. Now knows some basic king safety thanks to No4b (Drofa). Turns out this is quite useful and 1.3 is 80-100 elo ahead of 1.2 in self-play. I expect a bit less in lists :)
