Interesting BBN vs QPP middlegame sideline

Post by Nordlandia »

The queen is overdog here. Can white defend ?

White struggles with poor coordination of the minor pieces.

Fen doesn't fit position at 23rd in .pgn, Jon.

After some Forward- Backward from the Fen, Cfish has, if at all very slow progress in output and about -1 pawn eval.
So I tried Crystal too:

r3k2r/1p6/p2pp2p/6p1/3q4/4NPBP/P3KP2/R4B1R w kq - 0 1

Analysis by Crystal 051220:

23.Rd1 Qa4 24.h4 Kf7 25.a3 Rac8 26.hxg5 hxg5 27.Rxh8 Rxh8 28.Rxd6 Qb5+ 29.Ke1 Rh1 30.Rd2 Qb3 31.Bd6 a5 32.Ke2 Qb5+ 33.Ke1 Ke8 34.Rd1 Qb3 35.Kd2 Kf7 36.Ke2 Qb5+ 37.Ke1 Qb2 38.Rd2 Qc3 39.Ke2 Ke8 40.Rd3 Qb2+ 41.Rd2 Qb5+ 42.Rd3 e5 43.Kd2 Qb2+ 44.Ke1 Rh4 45.Nd1 Qc1 46.Bxe5 Rh1 47.Rc3 Qb1 48.Rc5 a4 49.Bc3 Rxf1+ 50.Kxf1 Qxd1+ 51.Kg2 g4 52.fxg4 Qxg4+ 53.Kf1 Qd1+ 54.Kg2
-/+ (-0.89) Depth: 37/93 00:16:52 9510MN, tb=499470

Seems not impossible, that a fortress could be built up, but probably it's just a won but
YAVLEJ, yet another very long endgame of Jon's.
:)

If I'll have free hardware- ressources in nearer future, I'll try to let it be played out with SF against Crystal maybe.

Season greetings
Peter.

Stockfish won the game as black but last available Cfish managed to hold this against Lc0. Take the result with grain of salt as the net used can be questioned.
