Thank You for acknowledging this. In a perfect world this would have been said much earlier, and without me speaking up - yet I am grateful for this words, and expect the moderation team to act on them.

Sorry, I have no understandings for such an incapacity and incompetence after a long time.

The right name for the thread is:
"The admins from TalkChess - are unable to find a solution for Polish users because we do nothing"

And how big the incompetence and missed sensitiveness is I can see with the HGM comparsion
"chess program by Stefan Meyer-Kahlen".

It is clear there is a whole lot you don't understand.

I am merely a moderator here. The task of a moderator is to edit / delete postings of misbehaving members, and if necessary ban them to put an end to such misbehavior. Nothing more, nothing less. We are not in charge of hosting the forum, running the server, maintaning the forum software, repairing internet connections.

Sam, as admin, can do more, but in the current situation his technical powers are limited to configuring the forum software. He doesn't have the passwords for access to the server to create or update the forum scripts because of the way we are hosted (by ChessUSA). He is a volunteer for that job, and he cannot be expected to rent a server for TalkChess and pay for that.

To find new hosting, and foot the bill for it, is a task for all members alike, not just for a few people that were so generous to volunteer for a specific other task. You have a big mouth, but I don't see you offering a server were we can move to.

Your posting is insulting in the extreme. Which surprises me, because I never saw you as a troublemaker. Perhaps you spent too much time on ProDeo already. But you are on a dangerous path: keep insulting people and you will be gone.

HGM:

I will try to give you the explanation:

Since many month I read here the following thread title in front of the forum:
Polish users cut off from TalkChess ... since Juli 06th, 2020.

The message is OK for me for 1, 2 or three or four weeks.
But If I can not see a solution and the name "Polish" is included in the name of the thread I am thinking ...

The admin's have no interest to search a way for "Polish" users.

Logical conclusion:
For "Polish users" no matter what happens!

And that I means with "sensitiveness" I missed a lot.

The name "Polish" in the thread-title in combination with "no-solution" is really bad.
Because a solution is possible!

But the answere is:
"To Frank: your postings consistently show that your command of the English language is somewhat minimal. Nothing wrong with that, it is not your native tongue, and people should be (and are) happy you post in English rather than in German. But by now enough people that master English better have told you that there is nothing wrong with the title of the thread, and you should accept their opinion. Further arguing about it would only make you look as foolish as me lecturing Stefan Meyer-Kahlen on how he should write a chess engine."

Again the same in red ...
No sensitiveness for the situation!

I am sorry for my bad English ...
But I wish me a stronger admin with much more sensitiveness for the situation!

Best
Frank

Well, I am not the admin here, so you are barking up the wrong tree. I just edit, move and delete postings. So I can do little more than help drawing attention to the problem, by advertizing it in a conspicuous place. Which I did.

That the problem is still not solved, is entirely your fault. You admit yourself you have been seeing it for weeks, and you have done absolutely nothing to solve it. Why haven't you hired that server that we should move to yet? If you had offered us a server, we could have moved there weeks ago.

Hello HGM,

yes, I spent time for ProDeo, why not.
Now I am a trouble-maker?

It seems you have a much bigger problem as I believe at first.
Please solve your private problems with ProDeo, Ed Schröder or whatever without me or try to involve me as reader from TalkChess.

Frank with the big mouth?
4 million computer chess downloads runs over my site ...
A site from a person with a big month, OK thank you again for your second compliment.

Back to the main problem:

A server ...
HOSTIX ... I can speak with Andreas (Admin) from Hostix.
www.hostix.de

That is a professional site.
I am sure different people here will give money for a good place.

I can give you or Sam the mail adress and can send him the information.
Perhaps Andreas Taubert can help.

So, do you think you are able to work with me.
Note: I like to work with professionals, not with amateurs.

Best

In case this has been directed at me: today you have called this situation "shameful". This is good, but I wish this has been said earlier and louder.

As for the server (again, the adresee of Your words is unclear), I wrote about the possibility of giving some space for a copy without forum infrastructure. This much I could do, but I am no Web specialist.

Hi,

yes I made always a lot of English corrections.
At the moment I am reading English chess books and hope my English will be better in the future.

That's my weak point, I know that.

In German language I types 400 character per minute.
I do the same with a language I have problems automatically.
The reason I must make corrections.
I should more often read my own messages before I click of submit.
Same for German messages because I am to fast.

I know that and will give my sorry for it.

Best
Frank

Again: Let us find a solution.
If I can help I will do that for TalkChess!
Without insults, I am to old for such things!
I like more to find a solution.
