Today someone imported a personal attack from the ProDeo forum to the General Topics section of TalkChess, in an attempt to troll, and carry the dirt that typically goes around there to us. We received many complaints, including ban requests, over this, and the thread in question was removed.
After some discussion in the moderator team, we decided that this behavior cannot be tolerated, and should be sufficient cause for an extensive ban. So I want to stress the following:
People are allowed to post here about computer-chess topics, even when 'being welcome' is a gross misrepresentation of the sentiment that the majority of members has versus such persons. Personal attacks and other mud fights are not considered computer-chess topics, though. Repeatedly posting such material here will terminate the poster's possibility to post anything here at all.
The person referred to above can already consider himself to have received his final warning in this respect, and would be wise to never refer to the ProDeo forum again, just to stay on the safe side.
