A new website for Shredder ...

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

I saw for minutes that Shredder got a new web presentation.
Very good / modern work, nice website!!

The URL is the same:
https://www.shredderchess.com/

Maybe a new Shredder version will be soon available?
I don't know, longer time no contacts to Stefan!

„Maybe a new shredder version ... soon...“

that’s a sentence like Loch Ness Nessie obvervations.

When did shredder 13 came onto the market ?

Yeah, that would be Stockfish.

Money pushes them to deceive. They ask for 50$ more to get access to the multi-threaded version of Shredder 13. This is a borderline scam, SMP has been a standard feature for many years and is present in the 8-10 free engines stronger than Shredder.

I'll also throw in there that I put little faith in engines that have sudden massive leap in strength after many years without any news and that have suspicious simex results...

Hi Alayan,

Shredder:
19 times computer chess World Champion!

I think you have a lot of fun with all the engines today, runs with UCI adapter.

It was a lot of work at this time!
More and more programs used the UCI protocol.

Arena helps here a lot with around 10 million downloads in the time I am working with Martin Blume on all important ideas!
3.5 million downloads alone in the last year before I made other things as Arena.

The UCI protocol is from Stefan Meyer-Kahlen.
Dieter Buerssner and Rudolf Huber are the others developers (a strong team).

Stefan Meyer-Kahlen told me via phone ...
Rudolf Huber is his ideal.
A very nice guy with enourmos knowledge in programmings, speaking from Rudolf Huber!!
SOS was only a small hobby project from him!

But we are very proud to geht it for Arena.
SOS for Arena

:-)

That was the biggest award Martin and I can get!!

Have fun with Stockfish and all the other engines today are available but you should know ...
That all have a history ... a causal chain ... and this causal chain isn't started with Stockfish / Glaurung / Gothmog!

And before UCI ... MCS
Or the most important Winboard protocol!!

A causal chain!

Sorry, but I am thinking I should hold the flag from a person with do so many things for all of us (Stefan Meyer-Kahlen).
We should respect the computer chess history.

Despite all the euphoria around Stockfish, LcO or Wasp :-)

All the engines are only a small part for the way computer chess go.
And Stockfish is only one of around 900 available engines, not more and not less.

OK the strongest I think but not more or less!

Best
Frank

I would like to start the thread because Stefan have a new web presentation.
I am thinking a very nice work.
Back to the main point ...

Pray tell, please do let us know when you feel you have achieved in your lifetime what Mr. Stefan Meyer-Kahlen has achieved.
