Java Rival Chess (UCI) by Chris Moreton

Post by Norbert Raimund Leisner »

Hello Chris and Roman,

it is possible to create jar-files for v10.02-10.05 and 8m29s / 9m30s that are runnung on Windows 7 64-bit? Java 8 (update 241), 10.02 and 11.06 SE (all for Windows) are installed on my harddisk.

cf. https://github.com/chris-moreton/rivalc ... e/releases

My intention is to use it on my pc, not on a smartphone with Android - but I have no experiences to program Java software of course.

To Chris: Did the development of Rival Chess for Windows etc. stopped and was v1.03 the last edition - are your interests focused now only on Android systems?

To Roman: Could you embed Rival v10.02-10.05 and 8m29s / 9m30s into your graphical interface SJCE https://sourceforge.net/projects/sjce/ please?

Regards,

Norbert

HI Norbert,

Thanks for getting in touch.

The rivalchess-engine is a Java library which can be used as a dependency in other Java projects. It's not a chess program that can used as a standalone jar, unfortunately.

I no longer maintain the Windows version or the Android version (that version was created by Russell Newman using the rivalchess-engine library in combination with an user interface he created for Android).

I am currently going through a large restructuring of the code which may well lead me back to creating a new version for Windows, but this would be some time away.

Kind Regards,
Chris
