Post by James Constance »

Hi

Is there a decent database of human vs computer games from the earlier days of computer chess freely available for download anywhere?

Thanks

The SSDF games database has one, if I recall correctly
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Many thanks for that. I should say that the reason I'm looking for one is to play through the games in the book Man vs Machine (Muller & Schaeffer) without manually entering them. It looks like the games in the database on Tony's website go back to 1988, so will not cover the first 120 pages of the book - but it should be useful after that.

Thanks :)
