Optane+Ssd vs PCIe Nvme M.2?

I have a choice of getting a laptop with either
512gb Intel SSD + 16GB Intel Optane memory
Or
512GB PCIe Nvme M.2 SSD

For the same price.
Which is better for bootup speeds, for tablebase usage, and any other chess related things? And which one will last longer?

Optane "Memory" is just a tiny SSD with fast random read/writes at low queue depth, that can be used for caching.

The Nvme is the better choice here.

The marketing name is deliberately deceiving. Some laptops have had an advertised memory where the number was the RAM + the optane SSD cache drive.

Optane is rather intended for speed up Hard Drive. With SSD you can accelerate with Optane (about 5%). But take care having last bios. For PCI Express or Sata SSD, except for large file, improvment is not really visible
