These GPU accelerated raytraced boards

Post by AdminX »

These GPU accelerated raytraced boards are nice and very fast, I only wish chessbase would have offered more choices. I only really care for two of the 3 that are available.

The pieces look really nice, as well as the board with light on right... D'OH!

I assume the position as black to move because it is a clear white win otherwise. SF 10 without EGTB thinks that this position is pretty balanced:

Code: Select all

I chose MultiPV = 4 because there are only four reasonable moves. Evaluations are from side to move, so -0.09 for ..., Qd7 means +0.09 from white POV.

Just for the record: this position comes from a real game or is it random?

Regards from Spain.

Yes, you are correct, it is black to move and it came from a real game I played on Lichess. As to the board, that seems to be a chessbase mistake which was easy to correct with a graphics editor. I just rotated the orginal board image and saved it, so now it always displays correctly. :D

Here is the corrected board: https://i.ibb.co/K0HPPr2/RTX-Screenshot.png

PS: the image is located here: Program Files\ChessBase\DXR\Material\Staunton

Well, at least with experimentation you can achieve a few different effects /looks.

Here is the last one I was able to hack together, I really like this one. The pieces are chessbase, but this is a custom board I was able to pair with it. I really like the mirror effect on this board. :D

Looks great. With the knights turned it would be almost perfect.

Thank you, I agree, however while doing this I found that (A) you cannot turn knights with the accelerated raytraced boards, and (B) there seems to be a bug with the normal (CPU) raytraced boards at least on Windows 10 where even when I try to turn them in settings, they won't turn. Anyway , at least I was able to two more accelerated raytraced boards themes, because one of the orginal ones I really did not care for.
