Noticed also a wrong link for my new compilations for Sapeli 1.66 - this is corrected now.

Thanks Günther. Also for your Sapeli compiles.

I took the opportunity and corrected a historical 'error' in my chronology.
Gromit has now two separate entries as Gromit2 and Gromit3, as the latter was a complete rewrite,
also adding a co-author with Kai Skibbe.

I still use Gromit 2.20 in tournaments since it is the latest native linux version of the engine.
My windows version of Gromit is 3.82, also the latest.
After that it became Anaconda which was included with the Fritz 6 GUI from Chessbase.
When running Gromit 2.20 (called "engine" as when downloaded many years ago and never changed) in Xboard, my command is
xboard -fd ./engines/obsolete/gromit -fcp ./"engine -xboard -xboardquiet"
plus other xboard parameters such as time control etc.

Thanks for sharing the old versions of Gromit, Guenther. I didn't have 2.13 in my collection.

If anyone is interested, I have uploaded my collection of Gromit versions here (2.0, 2.13, 2.20, 3.0.0, 3.8.2)

Thanks Tony.
If someone provides a working email for Frank Schneider and/or Kai Skibbe I will ask for a free release of Anaconda (UCI) finally.
I know that the request was refused in 2009 (not my request), but that was ten years ago.

Maybe you could reach him indirectly. Albert Silver is the first that comes to mind but maybe Johannes Zwanzger or some other German chess author could also help. Unfortunately I don't know their addresses but as far as I know Albert is a member here.
