Position : Win or Draw ?

Post by fishpov »

[d]3k4/1p3b2/1Pp3p1/2Pp1p2/3P1P2/8/4K1N1/8 w - - 0 1

Win or draw
I created this postion and Sting says Ok this is win but any other engine have 0 as eval even after 2 hours

Is a Sting bug or there is really a way to win ?
I really need to know the way to win, if this is true. thanks.

Easy. Play Sting moves for white, play moves from other engines for black, and see if Sting can prove the win it claims is there.

It is what I have done, and no solution after several moves.
If this is easy could you give me moves and plan for winning ?

I said this experiment is easy to run. Not that I ran it, I have not. :)

Why stop after several moves ? The point of such an experiment is to continue it until you reach a draw or a win (or at least, get Sting to think it's a draw or SF/Leela to think it's a win). A few moves with Sting still claiming a win and Stockfish or Leela still claiming a draw are not enough to know anything.

No because sting evaluation becomes incoherent during the moves. Sometimes 0 then 4 and 1 and 9 and 1.3 ...
Any other engines see 0.

Do you ever get a pv with the sting plan for one of the big scores?
If so, you should be able to follow the pv and see what Sting is thinking.
That will probably tell you if Sting is just blowing smoke.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

My guess is also that the position is just drawn and Sting is dreaming.

Many of you can't understand that searching doesn't return the result (excluding mate score).
If you want to know the result try "auto-playing" or playing. :)
Maybe, I can't be friendly, but let me be useful.

I am pretty sure sure this is draw, because on move after and after Sting gives inconcistent evaluation even after one hour.
someone could give me autoplaying result ?
In Fritz GUI, how to enable it ?
Thanks.
