There are many important changes and corrections.
Sting is "one brain in one head" engine.
It works in the same way in: searching, playing and auto-playing.
Sting starts with 128M hash (I recommend 1024M).

I tried installing this in Chessbase 14, and it appears that the name is incompatible with Chessbase - in other words, it does not install (or if it does, one cannot find it in the list of available engines). Perhaps it is the <> in the name.

You're right.
No uci-file is created here either.
It is definitely due to the < > characters. What a mess.

Until version sting-sf-16 there was no such thing, and it worked fine.

A wonderful news!
"The" Chessbase ignores Sting 17!
I recommend to start Sting directly in "Windows Command Line" I will prepare the guide and it is very easy to start Sting there.
:D :D :D

Earlier it was: Sting X based on Stockfish 2.1.1 by Y.
It seems to be wrong. Y is not an author of Stockfish 2.1.1 .
I chenged it to: Sting X <based on Stockfish 2.1.1> by Y.
It seems to be much better.
But here "all" of the top engines seems to be "stolen" and such question is far to be important for GUI authors.

How about Sting X by Y, based on Stockfish 2.1.1? While working on the command line may be a valid (perhaps even preferred) method, Your engine, which has worked under the Chessbase interface for millenia should continue to do so. I hope you make it so.

Sting 17 < based on Stockfish 2.1.1 > 64bit by Marek Kwiatkowski ... works NOT
Sting 16 based on Stockfish 2.1.1 64bit by Marek Kwiatkowski ........works

Remove the two <> and all is well.

If Sting does not load in Chessbase/Fritz GUI Sting is no longer important for me and other users. :(

OK, I feel the pression, but from version 17, I am focused to use "auto-playing" much more than earlier.
I doubt that Chessbase give a possibility to do it.
BTW. "<>" It is not my bug!
