Lc0 - SF10 fun games

This is what happens when Lc0 steers the game into a tactical meelee against Stockfish.
Nice game between these two.

The correct conclusion is this is what happens when Lc0 is forced to play a bullshit opening.🤣

You're funny.
Reminds me of that quote, "only real geniuses, like Fischer, can afford grabbing poisoned pawns".
Here, Lc0 grabbed the poisoned QNP and, as expected, lagged in piece development.

edit: sorry, not just QNP, Lc0 also grabbed a7 and c6 gambit pawns intentionally sac'd by SF to speed up blacks develpment.

That is because whites position is already busted before the pawn grab. 😎

AB vs NN fun games

Post by MikeGL »

How SF managed to trap its own dragon B without even realizing it.
This is a curious game where SF didn't realize its Bh8 is dead, useless piece. In informator lingo it
would be called (xBh8), and its eval score didn't even show that he is already a piece down.

That looks like an avoid move (Bh8) puzzle, because there surely is an alternative to avoid playing Bh8.
Maybe Rf7 instead of the N hop, so that Bf8 can be played (avoiding Bh8). Haven't analyzed, but looks like SF was blind with that long term immobility of Bh8.

1.g4 may actually be losing though :)
As to Leelenstein game: one recurring them in NN vs alpha-beta engines games is the NN engine pushing h4-h5-h6. Maybe SF could be improved if the value of the maneuver was somehow included in search or eval.
