Ted,

no problem ...

45 Elo more for Wasp is really a lot.
Elo goes higher in my still running test-run-1.
John have 45 Elo more in testing, so far I have 44 Elo more.

:-)

Very nice that I can anytime looking in current CEGT ratings for start such a test-run.
The CEGT and of course CCRL people do really a great job for all of us.

I am not up-to-date with engines since I am reading more chess books and playing vs. Wasp and older chess computers.
CEGT testers helps me a bit for the still running test-run with information.

A lot of new and strong engines are available since the last Wasp 3.6 version released!!
Winter, RubiChess, Defenchess, Schoner, RofChade are new "for me".
Godel comes with nice improvements.
Programmer of Demolito do a great job, I like his engine.
Some of the engines I have in my test-run.
And Nemorino games are interesting ... I think that Wasp don't like this engine.

Since Wasp 3.60 is running on DGT Pi I am playing often vs. Wasp in the last months and have a lot of fun.
So, I do no other things in my free time in the last months ...
The own games vs. Wasp 3.60 and try to improved my own chess with Wasp and chess books.
So my own rating goes higher, so far I think around 2.125 Elo.

Best
Frank

Lern from the legends by GM Marin and "Angriffsschach 1 and Angriffschach 2" from GM Aagaard.
Books are von Quality Chess with ... GM Jesus de la Villa, from New in Chess", 100 Endspiele die Sie kennen müssen ... best chess books I ever read and I read a lot. With all the 3.200 Elo Stockfish and Co engines I do nothing, all what I need is DGT Pi, Wasp and good chess books by the grandmasters. So I switched a bit my interest in chess. OK, other chess books are great to, for an example "Sternstunden des Schachs Zürich 1953 Bronstein, or Goldene Schachzeiten by Vidmar, Best 130 Symslov games and so many others. But the books I am spoken before are so nice ... Wasp is playing really human style pure, fun level = 100%

So far ...

10:2 for Wasp vs. the 20 others in ...
Mate below 50 moves after 929 of 1000 games in the sill running test-run.

Typical Wasp stats!!

Never John changed the great human like attack playing style (comparable to GM Shirow, Worldchampion Tal, GM Lary Christiansen).
Wasp is very danger after opening book moves. And if you analyzes positions from GM Larry Christiansen (chess book: Erstürmung der Barrikaden) you know why I like Wasp a lot. Can be compare with other engines ... and you know to 100% why I like Wasp most.

But two games Wasp lost in the still running test-run!
That what's interesting for me ...

Looking here:
A won game vs. Hannibal 1.7 with mate in 12 after seconds of time.
Move 28. and move 29 by Wasp as black player is interesting ...

After 21. Bishop h3 Wasp give mate -17 after seconds.
Black move 20. with 0,00 eval. Can be a mistake after the changes John do ...
Have to look in detail ...

MIST, MIST, MIST (shit) ... lost after 36 moves and I have game 3 in my 25.000 Wasp game database with a lost game below 40 moves from Wasp. So you know why Wasp is for me my absolutly number 1 and in self playing vs. Wasp Elo 2200 I can see that better. Very, very rarely I have a chance to start a king attack with mate. Wasp allways find the best moves if I am the attacker. OK, I won a game below mate vs. 2.200 DGT Pi Wasp 3.60 Elo after 43 moves. For sure, I have no interest to speak about all my fast lost games.

:-)

Enough ... from my site to Wasp.

Hi Frank!

Thanks for pointing out these games to me. I don't spend nearly enough time reviewing games. In the Hakkapeliitta-Wasp game, after white played 20. Qh6, Wasp thinks Qc7 is a draw until it fails low at depth 23 (in about 6 sec). Wasp continues to reduce alpha and re-search many times until alpha drops to -infinity at which point it takes approximately forever to come back with a -mate score. So in that game it wasted a bunch of time to try to find out exactly how bad Qc7 is and then timed out and played it. I made a change where if the first move at the root fails low several times (score has dropped about 2 pawns or more) then I accept that score for the first move, set a flag, and search the remaining moves to see if one of them is better. If not, then I repeat the iteration.

After this fix, Wasp abandons Qc7 after 9.0 sec, finds f5 after 12 sec, and then Nc4 after 25.6 sec. But it's still probably losing and takes a long time to see how much trouble its king is in :)

John

Hi John,

thank you!

"Test-Run-1" is ready, games can be found for the moment on my start page.
"Test-Run-2" is still running since minutes, same conditions, again the 1.000 games vs. the same group of 20 opponents!
Games will be follow in around 5 days. Daily I will update 1-2 times the current results

FTP-Trigger don't work with the newer Debian v10 my provider Hostix used.
So I can't used the FTP Trigger live-mode for frequently result updates.
I will search next days an other way to do that.

Maybe I switched the 20 opponents for "Test-Run-3" and "Test-Run-4".

I set the release information to Wasp 3.75 on schachcomputer.info forum.
I hope the admin have at the moment time to create a DGT-Pi setup file for Wasp 3.75.

Best
Frank

PS: Have a look in round 48 vs. Fizbo 2.00.
A very nice and fast won game by Wasp!

Hostix Admin (provider) Andreas wrote last weak that I need a FTP tool I can set "Passive mode".
FTP Trigger don't have it or I transfair "0 byte" files on the server in live mode.

Frank's Chess Page:
http://www.amateurschach.de

All the important changes can be found in release-notes.txt, included in 2.694Mb *.zip file.
Can be find on Wasp news selection too: http://www.amateurschach.de/main/_wasp.htm

Please read the news before installation!
Polyglot book format, no longer Wasp.rc and some other things are changed!

Since September 01st, 2009 a test-run vs. 20 opp. is still running (7x stronger, 6x equal, 7x weaker).
So far 904 / 1.000 games played. More 1.000er test-runs will be follow.

My test-runs will be run not longer in "LIVE" mode.
From time to time I updated to the currrent results and games.

Have fun with Wasp 3.75 by John!
And ...

Thanks John!

Best
Frank
