Komodo 13.1 released

Play store description say K13.02. I noticed table memory were reduced to 64 from 128. Any info on this one. I suppose on relatively strong hardware 128 and more is still good ?

We had many changes in memory usage between Komodo 13.01 and Komodo 13.1. These allowed basically 1/2 the memory for Table Memory to store the same amount of data, so the default size for Table Memory was cut in half. You are welcome to raise it if you want, but in computers, the less memory used the faster the engine.


With many core and long thinking time, Komodo should benefit a little from a higher Table Memory.

I have Komodo 13 on android, version 13.02 but it has levels up to 25, so it should already be 13.1 as you said in another post.

Are there different Komodo 13 versions on Android?

For me the skill level is from 0..20.

For Android, we periodically update what is called say Komodo 13 to the latest version. We updated the App to Komodo 13.1 this past week. If you see Skill levles up to 25 then you have Komodo 13.1. You can also see the vesion number in the Play Store.

OK, then it seems to be a bug.

Within Komodo 13/ Configure Komodo 13 only skill levels between 0 and 20 are accepted. Skill can't be set to 25 here. But from inside Droidfish skill levels 0..25 are displayed and available!

Years ago we got a speedup reducing the hash table entry size to 12 bytes. But even more recently found a speedup raising it to 16 bytes (and it also game us more room for useful information). So overall, the program is faster now.

I will pass this along. We have an internal Play Store entry for testing, and maybe the version number did not get updated on the "live" version. If you se Skill level up to 25, it is K 13.1.

The Android Komdoo 13 app was just updated to 13.1, so anyone with that app should be able to get the update now. It was in a testing phase and not fully released until today.
