Wow … new generation 64 core CPU at less than $1800 … that is getting very interesting. Should be able to put together a very nice system for less than $3500. Many new technologies coming on that are making me look towards upgrading my 8 core CPU system. New version of USB, faster memory … faster SSD's … better and faster PCI slots. I just want to see this 3rd generation CPU clear up any possible hiccups that are bound to happen with new stuff that has still not matured.

Not twice as slow. When I bought it, the new 2950x was retailing for $700, boasting speed improvements of 0.2GHz. I get a standard 3.7GHz on all 16 cores, and 30-32 million nps average in the middlegame with SF10. Good enough.

No doubt, but adding a watercooler to gain 5% seems quite pointless. Plus I could clock more than this easily. Right now the temps never go past 60 C. as it is.

It depend on the concrete CPU. If you have a better than average sample you can really enhance the clock frequency further.
