TASC ChessMachine Emulator...

Post by Steve Maughan »

Franz Huber has packaged together an emulator for the TASC ChessMachine. For those who don't know, the ChessMachine was a hardware card for PCs. It was launched in 1991 and contained the World Championship Gideon program from Ed Schroeder. TASC also included The King 0.5 by Johann de Koning, which was meant to be a weaker engine but turned out to be of comparable strength. The ChessMachine had its own GUI which I enjoyed playing at the time, but as I come back to it 28 year's later I really appreciate just how brilliant it was.

Downloading it using the link below, and take a trip down memory lane.
