Pulsar Chess on Android 4.2 released

Post by adams161 »

Fixes a major bug in Pulsar making moves introduced about 3 weeks ago that could cause it to put an extra rook on the board. This had to do with how castle rights were set. If this was a work outfit there would be a retrospective on this by now :) This marks the third bug in castling i've fixed since the initial Android release in January, but looks all fixed now. I'm doing Pulsar for both iOS and Android and most of the testing this time around got done on iOS as I had to port more Android code into iOS Pulsar than had new non shared work on Android.

In addition to the bug fixe, Pulsar 4.2 lets users set Pulsar's hash table size in settings. Over the last month we have added that Pulsar can open its log file of user's played games in app and has an examine mode when viewing PGN games. When viewing chess games out of the log, Stockfish 10 engine analysis is now available in Pulsar. Currently using 32 bit Stockfish. Also now show engine thinking line plus depth and score when playing and show book moves options in settings. Currently considering adding Chess 960.

We are on iOS as well and the engine there for analysis in chess games is Crafty. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pulsar- ... 40447?mt=8
