Longest game posted on CCC.

25 april 2019: 359 moves

Congrats.

By the way longest human-human game 269 moves.
See: https://timkr.home.xs4all.nl/records/records.htm
Probably quite easy to write a world champion longest game creator. Self play, with win=loss, draw=loss, loss=loss, everything else scores 0.5 + 0.01 * moves since an irreversible move.
Maybe creating a long game creator is 'easy'. But probably one that generates the theoretical longest one not. Always difficult becoming a world champion.

Just post longest game and we'll see if it can be beaten.
There will be an almost infinite number of longest game. Length = 99 x maximum number of irreversible moves. 29 piece captures + max number of possible pawn pushes.
Don't understand. Where does 99 come from.
100 minus 1

ok and 100 = 2 * 50

By the way there is also rule of three times same position is a draw.

New CCC record I suppose - just one move shy of 400.... be ready for some boredom, it became a 7 man syzygy draw at move 278. I always let the engines play to the bitter end. Each 500 game run is placed in its own folder, I just sort the text files by size to see which game was the longest. This 3 min + 1.8 sec per move game lasted just under 30 minutes, starting at 4:33 AM and finishing at 5:01 AM. it was a part of a 500 game overnight run.

I remember Karpov telling in a video that 1. Nf3 usually end in a draw.
