taking back moves with engines

Post by Uri Blass »

I wonder if there are interfaces and engines that support games with take back when the target is not to play a game for rating but to find what is the maximal material handicap that it is practically possible to draw or win against a specific deterministic opponent.

For example one side is stockfish with fixed number of nodes of 10,000,000 nodes per move(deterministic mode that can be done by 1 cpu and clearing the hash after every move) and the second side is anti-stockfish engine that try to win against it with some material handicap(for example pawns a2 and d2).

The anti-stockfish engine can try different lines and take back moves.
Stockfish is not allowed to take back moves.

The question may be what is the maximal handicap when anti-stockfish can win after at most 24 hours of trying.
