On the SSDF list, Genius 3 486/50-66 MHz is rated 2256.
I would love to see SSDF testing SF10 on a 486 CPU or even on a Pentium 90 ! /melancholia

In those early days programs were made selective to increase horizon.
Best programmers (e.g. Ed Schröder) were capable reaching 1950 ELO with 6502 32kb ROM 8 kB ram on 5 MHz.
Brute force made not much sense in those days.
What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.

How much Elo is this on pentium II with 6000 NPS ?
If we take such a machine and reduce the speed further ?
I would like to have such a feature implemented in stockfish or any other software. To adapt a certain MHz amount of cpu speed.
E.g. cpu speed 50 and stockfish plays as fast like on a 50 MHz pentium 2.
What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

Brute force made not much sense in those days.
Stockfish is clearly a selective program.
It cannot get high depths without pruning.
There are positions when at small depth it can miss simple tactics because of it.

Rough estimation for SF10 on a 80486/50-66 MHz (2000 nodes/second) is around 2800.
On the SSDF list, Genius 3 486/50-66 MHz is rated 2256.
I would love to see SSDF testing SF10 on a 486 CPU or even on a Pentium 90 ! /melancholia

The elo performance of Pocket Fritz 4 (Hiarcs 13 engine) is 2938 at Mercosur Cup.

The Pocket Fritz 4 (Hiarcs 13 engine) was running on the mobile phone HTC Touch HD. Hiarcs 13 searches fewer than 20,000 positions per second.
Cegt 40/20 rating list:
Stockfish 10 (1 cpu): 3422 elo
Hiarcs 13.1 (1 cpu): 2728 elo
I think SF10 on a 80486/50-66 MHz (2000 nodes/second) is ~400 elo stronger than Pocket Fritz 4 (20000 nodes/second)
