Is LCZero Configured Correctly?

Post by Steve Maughan »

So I just set up LCZero for the first time (I know I'm late to the game). I have a laptop with a half-decent NVIDEA graphics card (GeForce GTX 1050 Ti), so I opted for the CUDU version (I've never used my graphics card in this way before).

Once downloaded, setup was like any other UCI engine. It seems to play a strong game. However, the statistics say it's only searching about 1k moves a second. It's reaching 13 to 20 "ply" each move in a 10 minute blitz match. Is this to be expected? How do I know I have the engine configured correctly?

Thanks - Steve

Yes, Steve it sound like you have it setup correctly. I would make sure you are using the latest Nvida drivers for your graphics card. 10 nets will give you better nps. Read this: http://blog.lczero.org/2018/09/guide-se ... s-gui.html It should get you up to speed in no time.
