The CT800, rated at about 2100 Elo, is a serious opponent for any amateur chess player up to club level.

and it is also a "how to build your own dedicated chess computer" website.

A very fun engine to play against...set CPU speed % to 1, set CPU speed knps to 1 , set time control 1 10,set time odds 100 to 1 and pretend your Bobby Fischer...It also seems to have a built in opening book .

Note : No one in their right mind would think Bobby Fischer played the game below.

I'm happy that you like the engine! Yes, it does have an internal book which is optimised for variety, not strength. The GUI can disable it via the standard UCI command for "ownbook". With the speed, I think just going for 1 kNPS would have the same effect since 1% on any even remotely recent PC will already be around 20 kNPS. You can throttle both ways, and the engine will dynamically apply whatever is the lower limit. King safety is a major structural weakness of the engine, I have to admit. Nice game!
