Old version, but this SF8 is also very strong.
An insane imbalance between Lc0 vs. SF8 where Lc0 is a rook down in exchange for mobility and passed pawns.
Really fun game to watch. Haven't seen any similar games where SF8 was beaten while having a material advantage but K tied down at the back rank..

Imbalance: (R vs. activity+central passers )

Not very difficult position for SF Dev version but on your rig, how many
minutes would it take to find best move 33.Kg4! with a winning score for white?

Position after blacks Kf6-Ke7 move from Lc0-SF8 game below.
[d]r3r3/4k2p/2p1P3/pp1p1P2/3B3P/2P1P2K/P2n4/1R3R2 w - - 9 33

Strong positional move. (Taken from Lc0-SF9 game below)

[d]1r4r1/3b1p1k/1q2pP1p/3pP1p1/n1pP2P1/4RN2/2PQ2BP/5RK1 w - - 3 33

After 32...Qd8-Qb6 of SF9 x64 bmi, Lc0 played a strong positional move which is not considered as best by SF9.
Here, Lc0 played 33.Kf2! activating its K and primarily to make way for the Rh1 move creating an
open h-file of its own (because SF9 already invaded the one and only open b-file).
This Kf2! is an amazing positional move because the position went downhill after this h4 break of Lc0 supported by Rh1 first.
Good win by Lc0.

Not sure if there are AB engines considering this 33.Kf2! move also.

Thanks. That's impressive. Even the Rh1 move was shown in your PV.
Maybe in part due to Mac Pro prowess, because I can't replicate on my slow machine.

MikeGL wrote: Sat Sep 22, 2018 10:49 am Strong positional move.

Not sure if there are AB engines considering this 33.Kf2! move also.

Thank you for share these interesting analysis of the games!
I have played more games with lc0 not published due to lack of time.
This time I have managed to upload the games to the links below with the complete output of Arena, including eval, time, depth and PV.

Lc0 version 0.17 with net 11261 on Asus Geforce GTX 1060 3 Gb against Stockfish 9 with 6 threads on i7 4790S (4 cores and 8 threads), ponder Off, Hash tables 1 Gb. for both under Arena gui.
Using the following set of 12 opening positions of AlphaZero-Stockfish8 Test with white and black with tablebases support, 5 men syzygy for both engines.
LeR=3300*875/6640000=0.43

1. c4 *
1. d4 d5 2. c4 *
1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 *

Lc01711261syzygy - Stockfish_9_x64_syzygy : 9,5/24 1-6-17 (=00===0==01=========00==) 40% -70
Stockfish_9_x64_syzygy - Lc01711261syzygy : 14,5/24 6-1-17 (=11===1==10=========11==) 60% +70

Using the Nunn set of 10 opening positions with white and black. Playing at 5 minutes plus 3 seconds without tablebases

Lc01711261 - Stockfish_9_x64_bmi2 : 7,0/20 1-7-12 (==0=00=01====0=0=0==) 35% -108

Thanks for the links, will download now and watch these instructive games.
Really interesting because of imbalances played by Lc0 not seen between two AB engines.
