Vajolet2 2.6.1 release

Post by Norbert Raimund Leisner »

Hello,
cf. https://github.com/elcabesa/vajolet/releases

Unfortunately the bmi2.exe version crashes after a double-mouse click on my ivy-bridge i5, could you make an edition for older pcs with(out) popcnt, please?

Regards,
Norbert

At the moment I compiled only this version to let TCEC and CCCC test if it solve the crash problem. But no one at the moment had the time to test it.

This release only address the crash issue. If you like I can make some compile for standard and old cpu.

If someone has a cpu with enough core and windows os and want to test it to understand if the problem is solved, I'll be very grateful to him

AVX, SSE4.2 and POPCNT are supported by my Quad Core i5 with 4 GB RAM, but not BMI2. As far I know, at least a processor with Haswell micro-architecture is required for your Windows binary BMI2.

Now I can annuce the release of Vajolet2 2.6.1

Vajolet can be downloaded on github Release page

below the release note from github page:
bugfix for Tcec Crashes, I don't expect elo gain
Changes againt 2.6 Release:

[DEBUG]
std::vector bugfix
I hope that someone with window and a lot of core can confirm that the bug causing the crashes on TCEC is gone
