Good job!
Is this more or less the TCEC version? More results for 10.97 on Sunday.
Good luck
11.00 has two elo gaining patches from 10.97, one of which appears to be worth 6 elo (SPRT testing though, so it could be anything).

I'de say the gains are respectable, but not enough to guarantee 11.00 out performing 10.97 on a given sample.

Cool, thanx.

I started the testrun of Ethereal 10.97 for my Stockfish-testing gamebase just yesterday. So, I decided to restart the test now with Ethereal 11. Result not before next Friday (180914) or Saturday.

Keep up your great work. The engine evaluates and plays very interesting! My 2cents: the time-management is not perfect. Ethereal uses too much time in early midgame, when playing with small increment (compared to the base-time) (I play with 3'+1'' (=180:1)) - often all base-time is gone at move 40-45...

What a wonderfull chessprogram you made Mr Andrew Grant.

It plays such an interesting chess.

Please support the uci command "show current move".

It helps alot to use a chessprogram for analyzing.

Keep the fire burning. The chessworld needs such chessprograms like yours.

Hi Andrew,

all (most) other Engines has SyzygyProbeDepth default 1

e.g. Stockfish:
option name SyzygyProbeDepth type spin default 1 min 1 max 100

Ethereal has default 0 , why?
option name SyzygyProbeDepth type spin default 0 min 0 max 127

and what makes SyPrDepth really, what is the different between 1, 0 or maybe 4 or 127 ?

And yes, Please support the uci command "show current move" as Thomas Lagershausen mentionet.

I have no issues with the current TM. Ethereal will alloc large chunks of time if it sees lines which have potential to become non-drawn. And, for the most part, the game is decided by the 50th move. If not, Ethereal is comfortable playing on increments.

SyzygyProbe depth is the first depth in which engines will start reading the TB (not quite, but lets go with this)

Stockfish could use default 0, and it would make no difference.

Ethereal could use default 1, and it would make a difference, since Ethereal does "depth 0" searches
