I want to note that he has to allow javascript for 'nubati.com' first in case he uses a javascript blocker!
nubati.com is HGMs site btw, so no harm done - excuse my wordplay

Well, thanks a lot, Zullil !!!
This should be updated in the ANNOUNCEMENTS section of the Forum, since almost nobody here is posting diagrams any longer (before, the [d] was well known, but that was before...), making it a lame Forum !
Since I now know : [ fen ]...[ /fen ] (of course without the spaces)
...here is a study by Mihai Neghina. Can somebody find the origin or a link for it ?

Hi Ernest!
Till soon!
I've stored it in my database 2012 but before simply posting this one .pgn of mine, I wrote a mail to Mihai, if he'd like to show his own favorite one instead by himself.
Till soon!
Peter.

The correct diagram should be this:ernest wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:11 pmWell, thanks a lot, Zullil !!!

There was a trailing "/" character that led to displaying all squares with wrong colors and numbering the visible ranks from 2 to 9.

Re: Still no way to post a position diagram in this Forum ???!!!
Indeed, the JavaScript file and the images used are currently still on hgm.nubati.net. This was easier when I was still developing the feature. That I am an (assistant) admin on this board doesn't grant me ftp access to the TalkChess website, so I cannot upload any files, or modify the PHP scripts for the forum. The idea is to migrate everything to this website once in works satisfactory; apart from inplementing the {fen} tags in new postings the script also restores the functionality of the {d} an {pgn} tags in forum postings from before the upgrade.
There still is the issue of mutilation of {code} sections in old postings, which have many of their characters (such as brackets) replace by #NN; escapes (where NN is the ascii code as a decimal number); I still have to address that.
A disadvantage of the current method is that it only works for people who have JavaScript switched on. For the {pgn} this is unavoidable anyway, as it is an intrinsically iteractive feature. The diagrams could in principle be handled purely by the PHP scripts, though, which then would not have this disadvantage.

Thanks, Sven !
I did not see that this last "/" had such ugly consequences...

Here is the analysis I have for that position:
[d]4N2k/4PB1p/7P/B1p5/2P5/3q2Pp/1P3P1K/2r5 w - - bm Bc3+;
4N2k/4PB1p/7P/B1p5/2P5/3q2Pp/1P3P1K/2r5 w - - acd 46; acs 5484; bm Bc3+; ce 401; pm Bc3+; pv Bc3+ Rxc3 Nc7 Qe2 e8Q+ Qxe8 Nxe8 Rxc4 Kxh3 Rc2 f4 Rxb2 Kg4 Rf2 Kg5 c4 Bxc4 Rxf4;
[d]4N2k/4PB1p/7P/B1p5/2P5/3q2Pp/1P3P1K/2r5 w - - bm Bc3+;
4N2k/4PB1p/7P/B1p5/2P5/3q2Pp/1P3P1K/2r5 w - - acd 46; acs 5484; bm Bc3+; ce 401; pm Bc3+; pv Bc3+ Rxc3 Nc7 Qe2 e8Q+ Qxe8 Nxe8 Rxc4 Kxh3 Rc2 f4 Rxb2 Kg4 Rf2 Kg5 c4 Bxc4 Rxf4;
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Re: Still no way to post a position diagram in this Forum ???!!!
You added a 9th rank with zero squares...
I guess I coul make the script ignore raks with zero squares, as I am not sure it would ever be useful. OTOH, you never know; there could be a variant with some 'outlier squares' on which Knights (or Archbishops or Chancellors) start that can jump onto the boar proper from there... But if no other rank follows, it makes no sense.
I think the old FEN expander would have ignored the FEN altogether in this case, though.
