How long until your engine sees utter devastation for white?
Does not take too long to see the right move, but it takes a bit to see how damaging it is.

Interesting tactical position from infinity chess
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

A really nice one.
Remove that black night and make use of that h-pawn.
Kind regards

Re: Interesting tactical position from infinity chess
Here is another cute one I have been looking at recently (but not too difficult):
r1b1k2r/1p1nbp1p/pB2pp2/3NP2q/B4R2/1R6/P1PQ3P/4K3 b kq - 0 1
exd5 is losing. Black must play Qxe5 and then can draw. Engines will understand that Black is danger, but the gain of Knight for pawn looks so tempting. Seeing it is really bad requires finding some quiet moves.

How should we measure 'devastation' Dann Kaissa gets +3.15 for Black but I don't think that is enough to qualify as "utter devastation". It does not go very fast with just one thread, but I'm sure with big machines you can get a higher score.Dann Corbit wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 9:32 am 1r6/1r3pk1/4b1p1/4p3/p1P1PqP1/N1R2P1p/P2R3P/2Q3K1 b - -

Because the position isn't very hard, single thread could be yet used well too for better reproducibility.
Here is CoreChess again started with empty hash on 1 switched on HT- thread, so not even with full 1 core- power of the same 2.9- GHz Intel CPU:

Because the position isn't very hard, single thread could be yet used well too for better reproducibility.
Here is CoreChess again started with empty hash on 1 switched on HT- thread, so not even with full 1 core- power of the same 2.9- GHz Intel CPU:

I let the computer run a few days, but could not easily get a +4 score like CorChess. That does not have to mean anything because it could have an evaluation that scales differently than Stock, but still lead to the same positions. And Kaissa is not the same here as Stockfish. I agree the key move was easy but the further progress I guess is not, or I would have found it...
Old Kaissa (Kaissa I) is unreliable where King Safety in the endgame is concerned, but did get the highest scores.
