Would be great if WinBoard could add this integration. :)

I didn't have any problem with Weini using both uci (newly implemented) or xboard when I use the new bot functionality of lichess.

Just that for xboard, it seems you have to implement the old "time" feature ...

I was referring to the WinBoard GUI. :)

I'll probably try the python script at some point and prepare myself for the "fiddling" Matthew mentioned was required. I was hoping he'd follow up that comment, but I don't see that he did.

RookieMonster uses "time" -- didn't realize there was a newer way for the protocol to report that information to the engine.

Now no "fiddling" needed for xboard engines. lichess-bot supports them similar to uci ones. You just have to set some lines in config.yml and you are ready to go. PyChessBot is running pychess-engine which uses xboard protocol also.

Maybe with wb2uci adapter.
I do it with "UCI engine" is to start the python script and connect.
I start liches in the browser and with my account and operate from it, challenge, accept challenges, etc.

Nope forget what I said, I was wrong, time and otime seem to be the "new" way of manaing time (protocol version 2), Weini use level for this ...

Well, even with time, level is important, since it tells you the time control, whereas time tells you how much is left.

Has anyone who's done this already [set up a bot on lichess] post some instructions on how to do it, please? :)

Much appreciated,
Thanks
