Hello,
reuse/-xreuse or -reuseFirst true/false
-reuse2/-xreuse2 or -reuseSecond true/false
If the option is false, XBoard kills off the chess engine after every game and starts it again for the next game. If the option is true (the default), XBoard starts the chess engine only once and uses it repeatedly to play multiple games. Some old chess engines may not work properly when reuse is turned on, but otherwise games will start faster if it is left on.
Which adjustments are necessary that Arena http://www.playwitharena.com/?Download respectively Chess GUI http://www.chess.hylogic.de/ or ScidvsPC http://scidvspc.sourceforge.net/ are starting chess programs again for the next time during a tournament engine vs. engine?
Best wishes,
Norbert

In eng - eng games, ChessGUI always restarts engines.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

in Engines >> Tournament window (or press F9 key) choose the Start/Quit tab and then just tick the "Restart engines after each game" box.
I always use this setting for my engine-engine matches.

ScidvsPC always kills and starts a new instance of the engine for every game.
I guess it'd be possible to change this behaviour... and make a 1000 other improvements ... but...
Actually, it's kindof robust for me at the moment.
We've been working on an integrated CQL search feature. There are some windows betas somewhere on the site, but i'll just test them myself this weekend before announcing them. Still a while to go before the proper release though.
