After just 4 hours of self-training and just being taught the basic rules.

Are the Programmers in DeepMind smarter than our Houdarts and Leflers ?
Or do they have better qualifications ?
Are Houdart/Lefler or the top Stockfish Programmers incapable of creating an entity like AlphaZero ?
Just curious.

Programming something like AlphaZero is not particularly difficult. It is more something like an exercise you would give to a student. You don't have to put in anything specific; it learns everything by itself.

The point is that we don't have the hardware that it would need.

Yeah, but about 80% of them are crappy. Problem is, some are missing some stuff, so after you watch video A and video B of the same game, you realize video A was a waste of time, because video B includes all those variations and more. Video C may include a few more, but it's twice as long and not worth the extra hour, etc.

The best ones I've seen are by Tony Rotella:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb4WftADuWQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ysd1LQspfU

He calls them "Awesome Annotations", and he's not exaggerating

I also like the ones by agadmator:

And Kingcrusher:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY3VimPpngI

And the ones by chess.com, but then you get diminishing returns about what you can learn from these games...
