Fruit reloaded v 3.2.1 released

Post by Daniel Mehrmann »

Hello!

Well, finaly it's done! :D

Today i'm a bit proud to release the latest version of Fruit reloaded for you guys. It's identical to the version which playing the TCEC season 10 right now.

Well, what happen since version 2.1, released three years ago ?

Fruit is still a array-board engine and will be this forever of course.
But with some help of Ryan Fruit is using now pawn bitboards for some evaluations.

Fruit is using now 64Bit staff und supports up to 16GB ram.

The focus on this version is the end-user! So you have a powerfull sets of UCI options to play around. Fruit is the first engine which can learn not only positions, it learns the PV and plan behind it.

Well, how strong is it ? Good question of course ;-)
It should be the strongest Fruit ever based on the big Fruit familiy.

Is it ready yet ? Of course it's not and some parts of the evalution are just crappy and needs a revisite (e.g pawn eval).

I'm still searching people who wants to work on Fruit with me. I created a new project page on GitHub with sources:

https://github.com/Akusari/Fruit-reloaded-official/

Binary download (Windows only!): https://github.com/Akusari/Fruit-reload ... 2.1_binary

Wanted: People who build Linux/MacOS binaries from source! (Please mail me or send me packages)

Regards
Daniel

Thanks for this new version, Daniel!

One question:
There's a Fruit_reloaded_v321.exe and a Fruit_reloaded_v321_x64.exe, but both are 64 bit - what's the difference between them?

Franz

Who cares what the difference is. If both are 64 bits, just use one of them... :)

Well, I care! :P

And I assume that the first one should be 32 bit, but maybe he simply forgot to enter the correct compiler options.

Daniel, i try compile on my iMac:
make fruit compiler=g++ bit=64 pop=yes

And got result:

clang: warning: argument unused during compilation: '-pthread' [-Wunused-command-line-argument]
ld: warning: option -s is obsolete and being ignored
ld: library not found for -lcrt0.o
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
make[1]: *** [fruit-reloaded] Error 1
make: *** [fruit] Error 2

What can I do ?
