Handicap features

Post by MikeGL »

In some chess park I have visited, I have seen strong GMs giving odds or
handicap against weaker players. Time odds with 5 mins vs. 2 mins,
knight odds, Rook odds, +2Q odds, etc. The above can easily be setup
with any modern GUI.

But some specific handicap or odds features should be implemented within
the engine like super Q (regular Q which can hop like a N) or odds where
engine can win only by a pawn mate.

Would be nice if there are engines which can provide tickbox for super Q
(for both black and white) and also pawn mate so I can teach/train
myself how to deliver wins on these type of odds (ie pawn mates and
winning against an opposition with a super Q).

Or maybe there are already engines with these features?

[d]3k4/1KP2Q2/8/8/8/8/8/8 b - - 0 1
Pawn mate delivered after c7# checkmate

[d]3k4/8/3Q4/8/8/8/8/K7 b - - 0 1
Super Q delivered a checkmate after Qd6# mate
