Anyone willing to benchmark my checkers engine?

Post by Cardoso »

Hi,
I wonder if someone with an 8 core+ system would like to benchmark my checkers engine.

https://sites.google.com/view/deep-profound

Download from the link above ProfoundSetup....
install it, you might want to select the english language on the "Língua" menu, select the max number of real cores your cpu has on the "CPUs" button, then click "Meditate", since it's a demo it will stop after 150million nodes, and you should see the KNs on the statistics output.
Could you report it to me along with your cpu specification?
If you are willing to go a longer way maybe you could send me the main window image capture (after the benchmark) with "Print Screen" key, to deep.profound@gmail.com

Thanks in advance,
Alvaro

It says

AppDir:C:\profound\
Error in SetVarFromEngCfgFile(..., int32_t &var), mp_threads doesn't exist in C:\profound\Engine.cfg

Thanks Daniel,
you can ignore that error, it is supposed to be like that (for the normal user) so that that cfg setting doesn't override the one (with the same name) in config.cfg, just set the number of cores in the "CPUs" button on the main window and you are good to go.

many thaks,
Alvaro

Seems that it does not work on a 20 cores server:

Code: Select all

Final result:
10-14 <cbook>
 PV=2 Score=0 Nodes=0 0KNs Time=2946:51 TBp8b=0(0tps) TBp2b=0(0tps)

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention to turn off the book, on Options->Book
I also forgot to mention this compile is for 16 cores max.
Sorry for the trouble Daniel.

Expaining it better: Options->Options->Book, on the "Opening book depth" slider, slide it to the left until it is zero.
