Page 32/33 that is scanned has games and such from the model in the 1982 U.S. Open. It states in the article it got a 1870 rating over 12 games.

Yeah, I remember those days. The excitement. I remember when I got my Chess Challenger 43 years ago. Now I have to go face Hurricane Irma in an emergency shelter later on this morning. I almost got into someone's cement house but the wife nixed that deal. I am still at home. I just got home. Everything of value goes in my backpack. Everything else will be destroyed.

Well lets hope that mother nature allows you to weather the storm with minimal damage.

I hope that coastal defences on the west side of Florida are up to it. Our local weatherman Peter Kuipers Munneke says that latest predictions are that the core won't hit Miami, but the storm will follow a more westerly course. Cities in danger then: Fort Meyers, Tampa, St Petersburg. But still uncertainty about the path.

I would not feel safe in just any brick and mortar house. A shelter is better, as long as it is not under sea level...

If the storm continues over the Gulf, that means it will get some strength from the warm Gulf water, like Katrina. I don't know where it is headed next, what state or coastal city.

People will have to stay in the shelters a bit longer I think, as the speed with which the hurricane is moving is slowing. From the animation on Windy.com, Key West seems to get hit with the center around 16.00 my time (UTC +1), that would be some ten hours from now I think, that is 10 AM Eastern Time (UTC -5).

Too bad Lonnie... I knew you had your computer in some sort of outbuilding, as you wrote about that in the forum last year so I knew your place was not built like a bunker. Just glad that you did not get all the walls on your head in the storm. I hope some of your stuff at least was salvageable, but with all the rain that can't have been good...

My laptop is all that I have with me really so I kept that with me in the shelter. I never had much lately because of personal upheavals in my life the past 4 years.

Wow what can I say Lonnie other then I am sorry for you but on the up note it doesnt seem that its going to require alot of money to fix the external portion. Atleast I hope I am right. Please keep me posted
