Mike always is (and always will be) n. 1 for me.
I started feeling involved with computer chess because of Romichess and I spent my most enthusiastic time when testing it. So, if you look for someone guilty for my presence here... Mike Sherwin!
:)

Hello Michael,

after a double mouse-click on both .exe files (os = Windows 7 SP1 x64)
an error indication appears:

https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... -incorrect

The application has failed to start due to a side-by-side configuration error”.

The former versions 3L run normally, but both 3M editions are a disaster for me.

An installation of Microsoft´s 2008 C++ Redistributable SP1 Package https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=2092
did not solve my problem. Can you build new compiles like 3L, please?

Best wishes,
Norbert

I will look into the problem. However, they are compiled with the exact same compiler using the exact same optimizations. And they work fine for me. A real mystery! I will start by checking out the download to see if there is a problem with the zip file. I'll get back to you.

The only possible difference I see is that twelve years ago sse2 was rather new so I did not have it enabled. At some point I enabled those instructions and then forgot. I just figured that by now everyone has sse2 capable machines. I will make "old computer" compiles and see if that solves the problem.

The problem was not sse2. It is compiling RomiChess on my i7 and trying to run it on an older machine. I dusted off my old Q6600 and had the same error. Just to make sure that it was not an optimization error targeting a newer machine I deleted the whole project and compiled from a new project. I got the same error on the older machine. This is annoying but the good news is the new source has been transferred to the old machine and I'll just compile the new version on that machine. I'll send the new compiles asap.

Hi Wael, Thanks! :D But for the sake of international relations let's just say that Rodolfo and you complimented equally!! :lol:

No changes to the learning functionality yet. Not sure what my future plans are. I'm just hoping that this release is really stronger this time. P3L was a disappointment.
