ChessGUI question

Post by Graham Banks »

If I'm wanting to run ChessGUI under F drive instead of C drive, is there a quick way to change all of my engine path names from C to F?

Yes I've done this before. A search and replace on the following files:

ChsGUI_Eng.TXT
ChsGUI_Cfg.ini
ChsGUI_Ini.INI

And any winboard engine config files need to be looked at. Fortunately for me that was very few.

In addition to Ray's reply, this tool will update WB config files.

http://www.chess.hylogic.de/chess/WB_Ini_Upd.zip

It updates a given string in all subfolders of a given WB engine main folder.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Thanks for this tool, Matthias.
Thanks to others for their replies too. :)

I run a test between two version of my engine, the display looks not right.

Does the GUI able to show [%clk ...] in move comment? if so how?
Does the GUI supports pause tournament and continue tournament feature?

The timeout interval normally for ftp is the timespan after which it
will be tried to reconnect after that period of inactivity.

If you have ever tried e.g. ftpzilla you could look up its settings and explanations in the help.

Thanks for the hints. I am using filezilla, transferring files to server.
So far I am not successful uploading live pgn and other files via ChessGUI. So I still use Ed's ftp scripts.
